Luís Freitas

Luís Freitas has a comprehensive background in software engineering and entrepreneurship. Luís is currently working at Mintbase as the Head of DevX, where they oversee the development experience for the company. Prior to this, Luís held the role of Product Engineering Lead at Mintbase and was responsible for leading product development. Luís also worked as a Full Stack Engineer at Mintbase.

In 2020, Luís founded 3XR.SPACE, a company focused on virtual and augmented reality development. Luís has a passion for immersive technologies and aims to make a mark in the industry.

Before founding 3XR.SPACE, Luís was a co-founder and XR engineer at Aura Studios, a Virtual & Augmented Reality development studio in Portugal. Luís co-founded the company with another creative engineer and aimed to establish Aura Studios as a reference in the immersive technologies field.

Luís also has experience as a Full Stack Developer at Luso Digital Assets, where they developed and extended products related to peer-to-peer cryptocurrency transactions. Luís was responsible for creating efficient and secure systems.

Their previous roles include working as an XR & Web Software Engineer at Wonderleap, a Full Stack Software Engineer at HODL Media Inc., and a Co-founder & Creative Producer at MLN STUDIOS, an audiovisuals multimedia studio.

Luís began their career as a Backend Developer at Instituto Superior Técnico, where they worked on the MOOC Técnico edX platform, and as a Full Stack Developer at Nossa Freguesia, a web platform for territory management.

With their diverse experience and strong technical skills, Luís Freitas has proven himself to be a dedicated and innovative professional in the software engineering and immersive technologies fields.

Luís Freitas completed their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Engineering and Information Systems at the Instituto Superior Técnico from 2012 to 2018. In 2017, they attended Politecnico di Milano for a program on Technologies for smart agriculture. In 2015 and 2016, they studied Computer Science at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued a general curriculum with a focus on Science and Technology at Escola Secundária Alfredo da Silva.

In addition to their formal education, Luís Freitas obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed the ConsenSys Developer Program Bootcamp and received certifications from edX in "Blockchain: Understanding Its Uses and Implications" and "Blockchain for Business - An Introduction to Hyperledger Technologies." In 2018, they also obtained a certification in "Blockchain as a Service" from Microsoft and "IBM Blockchain Essentials" from IBM. In 2017, they received a certificate of appreciation from Web Summit. Luís also has a certification as a "Bootcamper" from Pitch Bootcamp, although the exact date of completion is not provided.
