Alexander Ranks

Alexander Ranks has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Alexander started their career as a Database Programmer at the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia in 2002. In 2006, they worked as a Software Developer at Baltic Technology Group (BTG) for a few months.

From 2007 to 2017, Alexander worked at AS Eesti Krediidipank, initially as a System Administrator and later as an IT Development Specialist. During their time there, they were involved in various IT projects, including the urgent money transfer systems integrator FIXI and the Euro transition project of the banking system. Alexander also provided operational and financial reporting support and developed the SharePoint intranet portal.

In 2018, Alexander joined Mintos as a Business Intelligence Developer, and later transitioned to the role of Senior Data Engineer in January 2020. In this position, they were responsible for designing and developing the data warehouse, optimizing ETL processes, ensuring data quality, and developing reports for internal and external stakeholders. Alexander also played a key role in creating the Report Management System (RMS), a product that generates complex reports from different data sources and delivers them through various channels.

Overall, Alexander Ranks has gained significant experience in data engineering, business intelligence, and IT development, with a focus on ensuring data accuracy, optimizing processes, and delivering valuable insights to stakeholders.

Alexander Ranks has a diverse education history. Alexander started their academic journey at Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University) in 1988 and completed their secondary education diploma at Riga Secondary School N.89 in 1999.

In 1999, they pursued a Bachelor of Computer Science and Information Technologies degree at Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte, which they successfully completed in 2002. Alexander then continued their studies at the university and obtained a Master of Engineering Science in Computer Science degree from Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte in 2006.

In 2003, Alexander briefly studied at the University of Bremen in the Faculty of Computer Science. In 2017, they attended Biznesa augstskola Turība to gain knowledge in project management, although they did not obtain a degree in this field.

Aside from their formal education, Alexander has obtained several certifications. In 2019, they completed the "AI For Everyone" course through Coursera. Alexander also holds certifications in "Automātiskās ugunsgrēku atklāšanas un trauksmes signalizācijas sistēmas projektēšanas, montāžas, tehniskās apkalpošanas un ekspluatācijas darbu veikšana" (Automatic Fire Detection and Alarm System Design, Assembly, Technical Maintenance, and Operation) and "Microsoft Certificate of Achievement - 2030, Creating Reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting services." Additionally, they have certifications in "Brainbench – MS SQL Server 2000 Administration" and "Novell ZENWorks 11 SP3 - 3120, Configuration Management Administration."
