Mike focuses his practice on general corporate and securities matters at all stages of the company life cycle, including venture capital financings and capital markets transactions. He has also provided counsel on compliance with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, anti-money laundering and broker-dealer regulations and state and federal law governing data privacy and breach response. His practice spans a wide variety of industries, including the life sciences, financial services, health care, energy & sustainability and sports-related businesses. In addition to his corporate work, Mike maintains an active pro-bono practice and has assisted clients seeking asylum and petitioners seeking to seal or expunge criminal records.

Mike attended William & Mary Law School and was a summer associate at Mintz in 2020. As a law student, he was a member of the William & Mary Law Review and interned for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission. He also provided support to the Office of Career Services and the Admissions Department, offering admissions and career guidance to aspiring law students. Mike has continued his volunteer efforts in the higher education sector and currently serves as a formal mentor through William & Mary Law’s Co-Counsel program and Pembe, an organization dedicated to boosting the representation of people of African descent in the American legal profession.

Before law school, Mike spent several years coaching NCAA Division I Baseball and worked as a marketing associate for an education management company in Washington, DC.
