Meir Cohen

Head of Algorithms at Minute.ly

Meir Cohen has a diverse work experience in the field of algorithms and machine learning. Meir currently serves as the Head of Algorithms at Minute.ly since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Machine Learning Researcher at Verint from September 2017 to March 2021. Meir was also an Algorithm Developer at VDMS from March 2014 to July 2017. Additionally, Meir has teaching experience as a Lecturer at HIT - Holon Institute of Technology from March 2015 to October 2016, where they taught computer science courses. Meir completed their Ph.D. in computer vision at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where they conducted research and developed algorithms related to detecting and tracking visual attention in a group. Meir also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Algorithm Developer during their time at Technion. Meir worked as an Algorithm Consultant at Idioma from October 2012 to March 2014, and also from July 2004 to January 2006. Prior to that, they served as a Team Leader at Idioma from June 1999 to June 2003, where they were involved in the development of various algorithms for audio-visual analysis and played a key role in product definition and system architecture design.

Meir Cohen completed their B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 1993 to 1996. Meir then pursued their M.Sc. in Computer Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science from 1996 to 1999. Later, from 2004 to 2006, they conducted research on Euclidean Indexing and obtained a research degree from Tel Aviv University. Lastly, they pursued further research in Computer Science at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2014, where they obtained a research degree in Computer Science.
