Laiyan Chi has extensive work experience spanning over different companies and roles. Starting in 1997, they worked at BALtrans Logistics(China) Ltd. as an Operation Coordinator before being promoted to Station Manager at the Tianjin branch. In 1998, Laiyan became the North China Region Customer Service Manager, leading a team of 6 members and implementing performance management programs. They also established internal standard operating procedures, improving work efficiency by 20%. In 2003, Laiyan was promoted again, this time to China Regional Marketing & Sales Manager at BALtrans Logistics (China) Ltd., where they successfully negotiated contracts, developed metrics, and achieved a 95% on-time shipment rate. In 2006, they joined BALtrans Logistics (Canada) Ltd. as a Logistics Coordinator. In 2012, Laiyan worked as a Logistics Support(co-op) at ATS Automation Tooling Systems. Their next role was with OpenText in 2013, where they served as a Corporate Operation Analyst and later as a Business Analyst for WW Sales Operations. They developed and prepared insightful reporting for executive members of worldwide operations, improved reporting efficiency, and implemented tools to measure performance. In 2016, Laiyan joined D2L as a Sales Analytics Specialist and later became a Senior Sales and Marketing Analyst. Finally, in 2020, they joined Miovision as a Senior Reporting and Insights Analyst.

Laiyan Chi has a diverse education history. In 1993, they attended Qingdao University and studied Law, specializing in International Economic Law. Laiyan completed their degree in 1997.

After a significant gap, Laiyan Chi pursued further education in 2011 and attended Conestoga College. Laiyan successfully obtained an Advanced Diploma with Distinction in Supply Chain and Operations Management in 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Laiyan Chi has also obtained several certifications. In September 2022, they completed courses such as "How to Train Your Brain for Maximum Growth," "How to Use LinkedIn Learning," and "MySQL for Non-Programmers" through LinkedIn.
