Mauricio Leon has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media and advertising industry. Mauricio started their career as a Sales Executive at ITV in 1992, and then worked as a TV Buyer at Mediacom in 1994. In 1995, they joined Leo Burnett and quickly rose to the position of TV Group Head, where they optimized TV buying for the P&G brand portfolio. In 1999, they worked as a Broadcast Manager at Starcom in Sydney, managing planning and buying for clients such as AMP, Ferrero Rocher, and Coca Cola.

In 2000, Leon joined Optimedia UK as a TV Group Head, and in 2003, they became the TV Broadcast Director at Zenith. At Zenith, they also held the roles of Zed Digital Buying Director, Group Digital Trading Director, and Performics Commercial Director. During their time at Zenith, they implemented a structured trading approach for digital media buying and managed large client accounts such as BT, O2, BMW, BA, and Aviva.

In 2014, Leon joined TubeMogul, Inc. as the EMEA Commercial Director, responsible for driving agency media revenue and managing a team. Mauricio later joined Omnicom Media Group in 2017 as the Global Head of Trading. At Spotify, where they worked from 2019 to 2023 as the Global Head of Trading and Agency Development, they created and implemented the global trading strategy, developed global agency partnerships, and drove thought leadership and innovation.

Currently, Mauricio Leon holds the position of Global Chief of Trading at MiQ since 2023.

From 1984 to 1991, Mauricio Leon attended Finchley Catholic High School. Mauricio obtained 10 GCSE's of Grade C or above and also completed A Level courses in Spanish, Economics, and Politics.

In 1991, Mauricio enrolled at Middlesex Business School, where they pursued a degree in European Business Administration. Mauricio successfully completed the first year of the program and achieved academic success during this period.
