Michael Scott

Michael Scott has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Michael started their career as a Programmer at Robin Hills (Systems) Ltd in 1977 and then worked as a Programmer Analyst at Digital Applications International from 1978 to 1980. Michael then joined the Medical Research Council as a Computer Manager from 1980 to 1982. In 1983, they started working at Dublin City University as an Associate Professor and later became the Head of School of Computing from 2010 to 2012. In 1988, they also worked as a Consultant at Shamus Software Ltd and served as an Expert Witness. During the same time period, they joined MIRACL in 2012 as the Chief Cryptographer. Overall, Michael Scott has held various roles in the field of computing, including teaching, management, consulting, and cryptography.

Michael Scott attended St. Malachy's College in Belfast from 1962 to 1969, where they did not earn a degree or focus on a specific field of study. Michael then enrolled in Queen's University Belfast from 1969 to 1972 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electronics at Trinity College Dublin from 1972 to 1973. Finally, Michael Scott completed their education by earning a Ph.D. in Optimal Control from the University of Dundee from 1973 to 1977.
