Miracle Ice Arena is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing a world-class ice facility to Southern Delaware. By uniting local businesses, families, athletes, and community leaders, we're creating a year-round home for ice sports that connects people of all ages across Kent and Sussex Counties — and beyond.

Our Story

For over two decades, Kent and Sussex Counties have cultivated a deep passion for ice sports. Youth hockey leagues, figure skating programs, and public skating sessions became a cornerstone of community life — shaping friendships, building character, and creating lasting memories for thousands of families.

When our region's last ice rink closed, all of that disappeared overnight. Today, the nearest rinks are 65+ miles away in New Castle County, making regular participation simply out of reach for most families in Sussex County and upper Maryland.

Miracle Ice Arena is here to change that!

Founded by a board of directors with hands-on experience in ice sports, rink operations, and local business leadership, Miracle Ice Arena is working to build a state-of-the-art, two-sheet ice facility in Southern Delaware — with one sheet ready to open by Fall 2026.
