Pete Nelson

Pete Nelson has a strong background in finance and accounting. Pete is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Miratech since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at OneSpan as the Director of Finance - Global R&D & Commercial EMEA from April 2019 to March 2021, and as the Senior Manager European Finance from April 2016 to April 2019. Before joining OneSpan, they held various roles at Groupon, including Senior Manager, Accounting/Finance from May 2014 to December 2015, and Finance Manager from October 2011 to May 2014. Pete started their career at Deloitte, where they worked as an Audit Manager in the Life Sciences and Chemicals group from November 2009 to October 2011, and as an Audit Senior from August 2005 to November 2009. Pete has expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, Swiss GAAP FER, UK/Irish GAAP, SOX, PCAOB, SEC reporting, financial statement analysis, data governance, data analysis, risk assessment, and risk management.

Pete Nelson has a strong educational background in business and accounting. Pete completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting at the University of Iowa from 2000 to 2004. Later, in 2004, they pursued a Masters of Accountancy (Mac) at The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business.

Pete Nelson continued to enhance their education and professional expertise through executive programs. From 2018 to 2020, they completed an Executive MBA at TRIUM Global, New York University, and HEC Paris. These programs provided him with a comprehensive understanding of various areas such as marketing, leadership, advanced strategy, technological disruption, entrepreneurship, strategy, and finance for global executives.

Additionally, Pete Nelson holds several certifications. In 2006, they became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Illinois. Pete also obtained the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from the AICPA in July 2014. These certifications demonstrate Pete Nelson's commitment to professional development and the highest standards of accounting expertise.
