David Walsh

Executive Vice President, Human Resources at Miron

David Walsh has a comprehensive work experience in various leadership positions. David started their career in the City of Oakland, CA Police Department, where they served in various police leadership roles and later became the Chief of Staff. During their time there, they authored major crime prevention plans and served as the primary department liaison for the Mayor's office and City Council members.

Following their role in Oakland, Walsh served as the Captain of Police in the City of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, where they commanded a multi-agency SWAT team and facilitated city-wide planning initiatives. David then joined the City of Burlington, Wisconsin, holding positions as the Chief of Police and later as the Assistant City Administrator and Human Resources Director. In these roles, they provided overall leadership for the police department, coached and mentored leadership, and negotiated collective bargaining agreements.

After their tenure in Burlington, Walsh became the Chief of Police for the City of Appleton, Wisconsin. Here, they provided executive leadership for a large municipal police department, authored policies, and represented the department in collective bargaining sessions.

Currently, Walsh is working as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Miron Construction Co., Inc. In this role, they are responsible for talent management, human resource leadership, strategic planning, and creating a welcoming organizational culture. David also serves as the Corporate Responsibility Officer and Equal Employment Opportunity Officer.

Overall, David Walsh has a strong background in law enforcement and leadership, with experience in both small and large municipal settings.

David Walsh completed their high school education at St. Ignatius College Prep from 1983 to 1987. David then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Loyola University Chicago from 1987 to 1991. Following this, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from the University of Cincinnati from 1994 to 1995.
