Michael DiMascio

Shift Manager

Michael DiMascio, P.E., has an extensive background in electric system operations and engineering, beginning as a Plant Performance Engineer at American Electric Power's Gavin Power Plant from October 1985 to January 1989, where responsibilities included electrical and thermodynamic testing. Following this, Michael served as a Distribution Design Engineer at FirstEnergy before transitioning to various roles at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), including Lead Operations Engineer and currently Shift Manager since January 2005, overseeing real-time operations at the Carmel, Indiana and Eagan, Minnesota Control Centers. Previous experience also includes serving as the NERC Regional Security Coordinator at Mid-America Interconnected Network from December 1996 to December 2001, being one of the first regional security coordinators in the country during NERC's establishment of Regional Reliability Authorities. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of Akron and early studies in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
