Jessie Pechmann

Jessie Pechmann is a seasoned professional in GIS and data management, currently serving as the Humanitarian GIS & Data Protection Lead at the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team since May 2021. In this role, Jessie manages the Conflict & Displacement Program, promotes humanitarian GIS strategies, leads data protection efforts, and supports responsible open mapping initiatives. Previously, Jessie held positions such as Global GIS Manager at HOT, where strategies for OpenStreetMap promotion and data protection frameworks were developed. Experience includes serving as Geospatial Specialist at FAO and various GIS roles at IMPACT Initiatives and the State of Utah, including Project Manager and Analyst, with a strong focus on humanitarian assessments and environmental reports. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Beloit College, a Professional Master of Science and Technology from the University of Utah, and multiple GIS-related certifications.
