Taichi Furuhashi is currently a guest professor at Politecnico di Milano and serves as a mapper and validator for UN Mappers. As the Ambassador in Japan for Mapbox and a faculty advisor for YouthMappers AGU, Taichi contributes significantly to various mapping initiatives. In addition, Taichi holds multiple leadership roles, including director and steering committee member at OSGeo.JP and the OpenStreetMap Foundation Japan, where past positions included vice-president and director. As president of CrisisMappers Japan and a professor at Aoyama Gakuin University, Taichi specializes in global studies and collaboration, as well as technological and social transformation. Taichi is also a member of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. Academic qualifications include a degree in Geographical Information Systems from Tokyo Metropolitan University and further studies in Environmental Studies at The University of Tokyo.
