John Hammond

Head of Marketing and Digital at Missing Piece Group

John Hammond has over two decades of experience in the music industry, with a focus on marketing and digital strategy. John has held various leadership positions in renowned companies such as Missing Piece Group, The MuseBox, Sony BMG Music, Wind-up Records, CMJ Network, TVT Records, and Rykodisc.

In their most recent role as Head of Marketing and Digital at Missing Piece Group, John oversees the digital marketing and product management practices of the full-service marketing agency. Prior to that, as Vice President of Marketing and Digital Strategy at The MuseBox, they supervised all marketing activities and managed a team while developing new digital products and service offerings.

John also has experience in consulting as well as working in senior management positions. For instance, as Senior Director of New Media at Sony BMG Music, they led new product development teams and marketing initiatives. As VP of New Media/Interactive Marketing at Wind-up Records, they oversaw new media and strategic marketing activities for the largest independently owned music label in the US.

Throughout their career, John has been involved in various innovative marketing campaigns and partnerships, including online promotions, digital sales, and user-generated content communities. John has successfully developed and executed marketing and brand strategies for multiple companies in the music industry.

John Hammond has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Swarthmore College. John also completed graduate coursework in Film & Cinema Studies at New York University.
