The Missionvale Care Centre is an interdenominational nonprofit organisation operating in the extremely poor township of Missionvale in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa.   It was founded by Sister Ethel Normoyle, from humble beginnings, under a tree in 1988. It has grown into a Centre which provides love and care for the poor and destitute, with particular emphasis on those living with HIV/AIDS. We empower local people living in Missionvale (and surrounding areas) through education, health services and skills development programs.

On our campus, we are proud to have the following services:

Education: Primary School, Robotics program, Adult Basic Education & Training 

Skills Development: Communal vegetable garden & local women making crafts 

Health Care: Medical Centre incorporating General Consultations, Women’s Health, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Community Based Care Workers, HIV / Aids awareness, education & counselling, support groups, Nutrition and Wellness assistance

Youth Development: Academic Support / Sports, Arts & Culture / Literacy Programs / PsychoSocial Support and Human Rights Discourse / Food sovereignty and healthy living program

Other Services: Clothing Warehouse / Recycling through our Swop Shop initiative / Church & Community Hall / Christmas Cheer Projects / Basic Domestic Animal Care
