Ryan Tonkin

Ryan Tonkin has a diverse and extensive work experience. Ryan currently holds the position of Senior Data Analyst at Mistplay since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Hothead Games as a Senior Game Data Analyst from April 2022 to January 2023, and as a Game Data Analyst from August 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining Hothead Games, Ryan served as a Business Analytics Consultant at Electronic Arts (EA) for a brief period from September 2019 to December 2019. Ryan also worked as a Teaching Assistant (Consumer Behaviour) at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University from August 2018 to December 2019.

Ryan's work experience also includes being awarded 3rd Place at the SFU Business Analytics Hackathon in November 2019 during their time at Simon Fraser University. Additionally, they gained market research skills as a Market Research Intern at Rocket Builders from December 2017 to April 2018, where they collected and analyzed confidential information from over 200 BC tech start-ups. Before that, they held the position of Marketing Manager at CogSci Apps Corp. from May 2016 to December 2017.

Ryan Tonkin obtained a Business Analytics and Decision Making Certificate from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. Ryan pursued this certificate from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2019, they completed a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA with Honors at Simon Fraser University. Their major areas of study during the BBA program included Marketing, Management Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. In addition to their formal education, Ryan also obtained the Google Analytics for Beginners certification from Google in June 2020.
