Amanda Rossi

Director, Business Development Operations at Mitacs

Amanda Rossi has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Amanda began their professional journey in 2005 at Concordia University, where they held positions as a Graduate Research Assistant and later served as a Sessional Lecturer, Laboratory Instructor, Teaching Assistant, and Guest Lecturer until 2015. During this time, they also worked as a Research Assistant at the Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre from 2009 to 2015.

In 2011, Amanda worked as a Co-ordinator for Let's Talk Science and also became an Alumni of the Canadian Obesity Network - Réseau Canadien en Obésité (CON-RCO) Summer Research Boot Camp. Amanda then expanded their international experience by serving as a Visiting Research Scholar at the University College London in 2011 and the University of Copenhagen from 2007 to 2008.

From 2015 to 2017, Amanda pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the McGill University Health Centre and RI-MUHC. Following this, they joined Mitacs in 2017 as a Business Development Specialist, and progressively advanced within the organization. Amanda held the position of Senior Advisor, Business Development from 2020 to 2023 before assuming their current role as Director, Business Development Operations starting in November 2023.

Additionally, Amanda has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance - Alliance Canadienne de Kinésiologie since May 2021. Throughout their career, they have also actively contributed to the CSEP SCPE Graduate Student Committee from 2006 to 2010.

Amanda Rossi holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University, which they obtained in 2006. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Exercise Physiology at Concordia University from 2006 to 2009. Subsequently, Amanda Rossi completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pure Science (Individualized Program) with a focus on Exercise Science at Concordia University, spanning from 2009 to 2015. Following their PhD, they joined McGill University for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Epidemiology, which they pursued from 2015 to 2017. Finally, Amanda Rossi attended Concordia University once again to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business, completed in 2017.
