John G. Ellis, FAIA, RIBA, is a consulting principal at Mithun, where John G. has contributed to the San Francisco office since the merger with Daniel Solomon Design Partners in December 2012. Previously, Ellis served as principal and director of urban design at Daniel Solomon Design Partners from 2010 to 2012. Ellis also held the position of Sir Arthur Marshall Visiting Professor of Sustainable Urban Design at the University of Cambridge in early 2012, delivering lectures and leading urban design charrettes. Earlier career experience includes over nine years as associate principal and senior designer at KMD Architects, where Ellis worked on significant projects such as the Oakland Federal Building and the Flood Building in San Francisco. Ellis holds a Master of Arts and a Diploma in Architecture from the University of Cambridge, obtained between 1965 and 1970.
