Yao Lu

Yao Lu, AICP, is a Senior Urban Designer and Project Manager at Mithun since May 2023, with extensive experience in urban design and planning. Previously, Yao held positions at Perkins&Will as a Project Urban Designer and Urban Designer from January 2020 to May 2023. As a Studio Instructor for the Master in Urban Design Studio at the University of California, Berkeley, from January to June 2022, Yao contributed to academic instruction. Earlier roles included Senior Urban Designer at WSP USA, where responsibilities included leading urban design tasks, coordinating interdisciplinary efforts, and facilitating public outreach. Initial career experience includes positions as a GIS Analyst for the City of Philadelphia and various internships in urban design and planning. Yao holds a Master's degree in City Planning, Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning from Sun Yat-sen University.
