Alan Gideon, P.E., Ph.D., is a semi-retired professional at The MITRE Corporation, specializing in systems engineering with a focus on hydrodynamics and risk management. Alan previously held positions as an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton and an Engineering Project Manager at John J. McMullen Associates, among other roles in the naval engineering sector. With an education that includes a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University and an Engineer's Degree in Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Alan has extensive expertise in ship operation, repair, construction, and design.
