Beth Meinert

SVP & GM, MITRE Public Sector at MITRE

Beth Meinert is senior vice president and general manager of MITRE Public Sector. In this role, she sets strategy, direction, and priorities while working with key senior sponsors of the federally funded research and development centers that MITRE operates for civilian government agencies - including the Center for Advanced System Development (CAASD), CMS Alliance to Modernize Health Care (Health), the Center for Securing the Homeland (CSH) and Center for Government Effectiveness and Modernization (CGEM). Meinert also manages related international programs, leads collaboration opportunities with industry and academic partners, and works with the Board of Trustees on business strategy and key initiatives.

Meinert previously led MITRE’s Center for Government Effectiveness and Modernization. In that role, she directed the work of federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs) supporting the U.S. Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Commerce.

Prior to joining the public sector portion of MITRE, Meinert served as the director of MITRE’s Army work program under the National Security FFRDC.Bet.

Meinert also led the establishment of MITRE’s Center for Strategic Competition focusing on data-driven analyses to drive whole of nation solutions bringing together national security, national resilience, and prosperity perspectives.

Meinert joined MITRE in 1988 after four years in the U.S. Army, and since assuming a senior leadership role, has served as the officer champion for MITRE Veterans and the Veterans council.

Meinert holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Gannon University and is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in National and International Security program and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School Executive Finance program.
