Derek Haas

Derek Haas is a Senior Communications Engineer at MITRE since July 2020, where responsibilities include supporting a survivable communication system acquisition program for the Air Force within the NC3 Transition Department and collaborating with contractors to test and verify software environments. Previously, Derek served as an Intermediate Communication Systems Engineer and Associate Communication Systems Engineer at MITRE, contributing to the software team's reviews of contractor deliverables. Derek's experience also includes a teaching assistantship in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Maine and a role as a Cyber Security Intern at MITRE, focusing on data analytics for malicious behavior detection. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maine and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in the same field at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
