Jim Willson

Jim Willson is a seasoned system safety engineer currently serving as a Principal and Safety Management Lead at MITRE, where involvement includes leading projects in collaboration with the FAA to address eVTOL and AAM operational certification requirements. Prior experience spans over 18 years at FedEx, including roles as Air Safety Manager, where significant contributions included the implementation of crisis management software and the establishment of a comprehensive risk program. Willson also served as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for WBAT for Aviation Safety, Inc., promoting safety information exchange in the aviation sector. Previous experience includes technical oversight at the Allied Pilots Association, with a strong academic background comprising a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an MS in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.
