Joe Roberts has a diverse background in analytical chemistry and materials science, with experience in both academia and industry. Roberts served as an Analytical Consultant at BiOWiSH Technologies from May 2014 to July 2015, and as Lab Technician at Henry Ford Hospital from August 2008 to August 2009. Following academic positions as Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor of Chemistry at Avila University and Northern Virginia Community College, respectively, from August 2015 to December 2020, Roberts transitioned to a role as Physical Scientist with the U.S. Secret Service from December 2020 to December 2021. Most recently, Roberts held positions as EDGE Lab Manager and Lead Materials Scientist at MITRE in October 2024. Roberts earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Wayne State University.
