Madeline Murphy

Madeline Murphy is an accomplished Environmental Scientist currently working at MITRE, focusing on energy, environmental, material, and chemical sciences. As the founder of SEDIMENT, a venture that enhances local food systems by connecting communities with commercial fishing industries, Madeline organizes "ocean-to-table" events featuring locally caught lobsters. Previous experiences include serving as a SEA GRANT Aquaculture and Fisheries Fellow at the Coastal Resources Center, leading a direct-to-consumer seafood project at Farm Fresh Rhode Island, and conducting critical mineral research at SAFE. Madeline has also worked on numerous energy savings projects as an Energy Assessment Specialist at Energy Source LLC and engaged in various internships and fellowships in marine research and environmental education. Madeline holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Management with a focus on policy, along with a Graduate Certificate in Aquaculture and Fisheries Science from the University of Rhode Island, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Colorado College.
