Michael Bales

Michael Bales is currently a Senior Data Scientist at MITRE, where they apply their expertise in data analysis. Previously, from 2012 to 2016, they worked as a Financial Engineer II at Fannie Mae, where they redeveloped a logistic regression model for borrower default prediction and created numerous algorithms for fraud detection. Prior to that, Michael served as Associate Director of Alumni Relations at St. John's College and a Legislative Correspondent for the United States Senate in 2009. They hold a Master of Science in Government Analytics from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from St. John's College.
