Research Principal Investigator And Lead Systems Engineer at MITRE

Scott Robbins is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in engineering and research. Currently serving as a Research Principal Investigator and Lead Systems Engineer at MITRE since April 2004, Scott leads a multi-year initiative in Simulations Localization and Mapping (SLAM), focusing on developing small UGV and UAV payloads that create real-time 3D maps for navigation and autonomy. Responsibilities encompass all project facets, including proposal management, fiscal oversight, staff coordination, and customer relations. Prior to MITRE, Scott worked as a Contract Engineer at Fidelity Flight Simulation Inc, where expertise in embedded software development for flight simulators was demonstrated. Additionally, experience as a Software Engineer at TimeSys Corporation involved designing and implementing significant portions of the Real-Time Specification for Java. Scott holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, completed in 2000.
