Stephen Lynch is a Principal Underwater Acoustics Engineer at MITRE, specializing in BlueTech since August 2023. Prior to this role, Stephen served as Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory from January 2018 to August 2023, focusing on acoustic and radio frequency propagation, electro-optics and infrared, signal processing, detection and estimation, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and oceanographic sensing. Earlier experience includes positions as a Scientist at SPAWAR, a Post-Doctoral researcher at Marine Physical Laboratory, and a Graduate Research Associate at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Stephen holds a PhD in Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, as well as B.S. and B.A. degrees in Physics and Mathematics - Applied Science from UC San Diego.
