Amit Avnet has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Amit started their career as a Financial Analyst at Ofer Brothers Properties Ltd. in 1997. Amit then moved on to THCG, Inc., where they served as Vice President from 1999 to 2001. Following this, Amit worked as a Principal at SCP Private Equity Partners from 2001 to 2007, focusing on mid to late stage companies in high growth industries. Amit then joined Valens Capital Management as a Portfolio Manager, where they managed multiple hedge funds with over $1 billion under management from 2007 to 2009. Amit later became the Managing Director at Sigma Capital Partners, a private equity fund focused on making direct investments into Micro-Cap companies, from 2009 to 2011. Amit then founded Avnet Consulting, LLC and served as its Managing Member from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they became a Board Member at Synergis Education, Inc., a company that partners with colleges and universities to co-design and launch innovative classroom, online, and blended programs. From 2013 to 2017, they also held the role of Director, Corporate Development and Investments at Mitsui & Co. (USA), Inc. In 2017, Amit was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Development at Mitsui & Co. (USA), Inc. and continues to hold this position. In 2018, they became a Board Observer at INDOCHINO, an online company that delivers mass one-to-one apparel garments for its customers. Most recently, in 2020, Amit co-founded The Seasoned Carte, Inc., a company that curates the best ingredients from around the world. Throughout their career, Amit has demonstrated expertise in various areas, including financial analysis, private equity, corporate development, and board membership.
Amit Avnet completed the Global Management Academy program in Business Administration and Management at Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2017. Prior to that, they earned an MBA, Magna Cum Laude, with a focus on Finance and Marketing from Tel Aviv University. Amit also holds a BA, Cum Laude, in Economics and Management from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
