General Manager of Investment Administrative Division at Mitsui

Makoto Sato is the current General Manager of Investment Administrative Division at Mitsui. Prior to this role, Sato served as Executive Advisor to the CEO of Pacific Coast Recycling, LLC from September 2007 to May 2008. From May 2008 to March 2013, Sato was the General Manager of Investment Dept., Planning & Administrative Div., Metal Resources & Steel Products at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. And from March 2006 to September 2007, Sato was the General Manager, Ferrous Raw Materials Trading Department, F.R.M. Division also at Mitsui & Co., Ltd.

Sato has extensive experience in investment administration and management. In their previous role as Executive Advisor to the CEO of Pacific Coast Recycling, LLC, Sato supported the CEO in trying to sell the company. As the General Manager of Investment Dept., Planning & Administrative Div., Metal Resources & Steel Products at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Sato was in charge of investment activity in the Mineral & Mteal Resources Business Unit and Iron & Steel Products Business Unit. And in their previous role as General Manager, Ferrous Raw Materials Trading Department, F.R.M. Division at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Sato was responsible for trading steel-making ferrous materials, such as steel scrap, basic pig iron, HBI and DRI, as well as the management & administration of subsidiary company and investment activity, such as M&A of companies and asset purchasing.

Sato’s experience in a variety of positions has given him a well-rounded skillset that they utilize in their current role as General Manager of Investment Administrative Division at Mitsui.

Makoto Sato has a PED in Management and Leadership from IMD and a BSC in Metals from Waseda University.
