Joel Kaplan

Founder & Principal at MK3 Creative

Joel is the “K” in MK3. He believes that the best complement to a great product is superior customer service. He not only talks the talk and walks the walk, but he has perfected the art of listening. Being accessible and responsive to clients, Joel is a natural at asking the perfect follow-up questions to truly understand every client’s intent. He has set the bar high for customer service at MK3, which is why nearly 100% of his clients come back time and again.

Joel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Northeastern University and completed his MBA from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to creating MK3, Joel was a principal at Blue Wave Marketing, a Sr. Account Executive at Cramer Productions and Vice President of Business Development at Fiction.

At Cramer, Joel was responsible for the integrated marketing campaigns of clients such as UPS, EMC, Coca Cola, Saucony and many others. At Fiction, Joel managed key U.S. accounts for companies such as Philips Medical Systems, Thermo Electron and Genzyme. With each firm, his responsibilities ranged from strategic, corporate development to managing day-to-day operations and budgets, and developing new business opportunities.

Through each venture, Joel learned the importance of building and maintaining long-term collaborative relationships with his clients at all levels, and through all phases of a project, which is a key part of MK3’s success. Joel’s vision for MK3 is to build a marketing agency that is as well known for its world-class service as it is for its creative. Delivering multimedia and online projects for some of the best brands in the world is the goal. To do this, MK3 continues to hire and train extremely talented people and create a genuinely open and honest working environment for clients and employees alike.

Joel assisted his wife, Rachel, with passing a state law protecting nursing home residents known as “Sally’s Law.” In addition, he is highly involved with non-profit organizations such as the Family Reach Foundation and the Gifford Cat Shelter. Joel is on the Board of Directors of Congregation Mishkan Tefila and their Brotherhood, and is also the Brotherhood treasurer. When Joel is home, you will find him happily hangin’ with Rachel and their two Maine Coon cats. When he’s out, you’ll find him in the theater or enjoying one of the city’s many fine steak houses.
