James Banks has extensive experience in sports journalism, currently serving as Vice President and Executive Editor of MLB.com since its inception on Opening Day 2001. Prior to this role, James was Deputy Sports Editor at The Star-Ledger, overseeing daily reporter management and planning coverage for major sports teams, and held similar positions at The Times-Picayune and Akron Beacon Journal. Early in the career, James worked as a news editor at The News-Herald and as a copy editor at The Augusta Chronicle. James Banks earned a degree from Ohio University, completing studies from 1984 to 1988.
