Melanie Newman

Melanie Newman is an accomplished broadcaster with extensive experience across various sports media platforms. Since February 2020, Melanie has served as a broadcaster for the Baltimore Orioles and has held positions with LFSN, where responsibilities include serving as a sideline reporter for Liberty football on ESPN+ and play-by-play announcer for Liberty DI women's volleyball. Melanie also works as a sports reporter for ESPN, covering the World Axe Throwing League, and as a sideline reporter for multiple events with GameDay Radio. Additional roles include sideline reporting for ACC Network Extra and serving as a Media Communications Coordinator for Major League Baseball's Arizona Fall League. Notably, Melanie was one of the few women calling play-by-play for professional baseball while with the Frisco RoughRiders. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Troy University and has previous experience as an in-game host at Troy University.
