Fazl Barez

Fazl Barez is a seasoned expert in the fields of AI and machine learning with a diverse range of experience from leading roles to teaching positions. Currently serving as the Agentic AI Risk and Reliability Work Stream Lead at MLCommons and a Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative, Fazl previously held roles at Amazon as an Applied Machine Learning Scientist and at the AI Safety Hub as Organization Manager. Fazl also contributed to academic settings as a Teaching Fellow at Cambridge Spark and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Edinburgh. Fazl's commitment to research in interpretability and safety continues as they lead initiatives at renowned organizations, including RAND Corporation and The EUROPAEUM.
