Roberta Piazza

Roberta Piazza has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Roberta started their career as a Research Scholar/PhD Student at the EndoCAS Center, University of Pisa in November 2015, where they conducted research until October 2017. Roberta then continued their PhD studies at the same institution from November 2017 to July 2019. In April 2019, Roberta worked as a Visiting Graduate Student (Research Only) at the Robarts Research Institute until December 2019.

In March 2020, they joined the EndoCAS Center, University of Pisa as a Post-doc. Roberta'srole there lasted until October 2022. During this time, they focused on their research and contributed to the institution's work.

Additionally, from October 2020 to October 2022, Roberta worked as a Data Manager/Study Coordinator at the UNIPI - Liver Transplant Surgery Unit (Cisanello Hospital). In this role, they coordinated clinical trial activities and was responsible for organizing mandatory visits and procedures for patients participating in the trials.

Most recently, in October 2022, Roberta joined Medical Microinstruments, Inc. as a Clinical Engineer, where they are currently employed.

Roberta Piazza started their education journey in 2006 at Università di Pisa, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. Roberta successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2011. Building upon their bachelor's degree, they pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the same institution from 2011 to 2015. After completing their master's degree, they decided to further enhance their knowledge in the field and enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD program in Information Engineering at Università di Pisa. This program lasted from 2016 to 2020. In addition to their formal education, Roberta Piazza also attended the 2nd IEEE EMBS International Summer School on Computer Modeling in Medicine in 2019, held in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Roberta focused on Image-based Modeling for Personalized Medical Device Design during this summer school.
