The efforts of the Central Bank of Hungary (Magyar Nemzeti Bank, MNB) to promote art are in line with its social responsibility strategy, according to which it considers it its duty to present and support the values of Hungarian fine arts and contemporary Hungarian artists.
As part of this mission – in line with international central bank practices –, in recent years, it has established a collection of contemporary art through its subsidiary, MNB-Ingatlan Kft. The collection, managed by MNB Arts and Culture, now includes more than a thousand works of art, including works by renowned artists such as Judit Reigl, Simon Hantaï, Ilona Keserü, Dóra Maurer and Imre Bak.
