Anna Erol

Genome Analyst at MNM Bioscience

Anna joined MNM in October 2022. She works as a Genome Analyst and is part of the Research and Development team. She graduated with an M.Sc. in Biology from the Technical University Dresden in 2018, soon after started a PhD program under MSCA Horizont 2022 co-fund project at Clinical Research Centre, Medical University of Bialystok. She studied the transcriptome of high grade serous ovarian cancer, especially focusing on transcriptome regulation by miRNAs, lncRNAs and Transcriptional Factors, working both in wet and dry lab. Her special interest were Ovarian Cancer Stem Cells, which she studied using bulk and single-cell transcriptomics. Anna is also a member of the team, that submitted a patent application for miRNA-based diagnostic test. She was awarded PhD title in 2022. During her education, she collected experience in various fields, including plant biotechnology, bioinformatics, molecular biology. This was made possible through numerous internships including research stay and finalizing master thesis at University of Jan Evangelista in Usti and Labem (CZ) or research exchange during PhD studies at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City (USA). Besides strict biological education, Anna also finalized postgraduate study in Data Science and took part in EIT Health “From Scientist to Innovators for Industry” course, where she worked in a team to provide innovative solution to case provided by Roche Denmark.
