When a couple of college students kept watching good food get thrown away while people down the road went hungry, they decided to move it.

It started with Jack Swartley, who spent seven years working in food pantries, long enough to know two things by heart: how much good food gets tossed, and how many people need it. The problem was never supply. It was everything in between, the pickup, the transport, the logistics that make donating feel like more trouble than it's worth. So he pitched a fix through Ohio State's President's Buckeye Accelerator, earned the early funding, and turned a stubborn belief into wheels on the road.

That's MobilePantry. We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on a simple idea: good food should reach people, not landfills. We handle the hard part, picking up surplus from farms, produce markets, and grocery stores, and getting it to pantries and community partners fast. For the growers and grocers we work with, that means all the good of giving back with none of the overhead. For the people at the other end, it means fresh food that would've been thrown away.

We do it faster than most, because we're run entirely by college students who move with the energy of a startup and the heart of a grassroots movement.

The food already exists. The need already exists. We're the part in the middle, and we're reinventing how surplus food finds its way home.
