David McCully

Technical Artist II at MobilityWare

David McCully has extensive experience in the field of 3D art and technical development. David started their career at C-Squared Technologies in 2012, where they worked as a 3D Cleanup Artist, creating 3D models and assisting with workflow streamlining. In 2013, they joined Lds Motion Picture Studio as a 3D Environment Artist, creating photo realistic 3D content for multiple titles and specializing in architectural pre-visualization.

In 2014, they became the Lead 3D Technical Artist at 3DplusMe, where they created 3D content, assisted artists in workflow streamlining, and performed face capture model annotation. This role allowed him to further develop their technical skills and expertise.

In 2015, David took on the role of Lead 3D Technical Artist at WhiteClouds, where they created 3D content for large entertainment brands and optimized the 3D production pipeline. David also tracked and minimized 3D printing production costs, resulting in a significant increase in profits.

During the same year, they also joined Utah Valley University as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor, where they taught fundamentals of 3D modeling, texturing, and optimization for technical deployment. David also introduced students to scripting in C# for Unity.

From 2018 to 2022, David worked at Zygote Media Group, Inc. as a Senior Unity Developer, Senior 3D Technical Artist, and Character Rigger. David led the development of multiple projects across desktop, VR, and mobile devices, imported complex medical rigs into Unity for interactivity, and implemented online distribution of titles through various platforms.

Most recently, David joined MobilityWare in 2022 as an Associate Unity Engineer. David implemented performance optimizations, developed UI layouts, and contributed to the successful delivery of the game Brick Breaker Journeys. In 2023, they were promoted to the role of Technical Artist II, leveraging their expertise in visual effects, custom shaders, particle systems, and animations to create stunning experiences and actively contributing to the art pipeline.

David McCully attended Utah Valley University from 2010 to 2014. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Gaming and Animation.
