Brian Bender

Brian Bender has extensive experience in the energy industry, particularly in coal trading. Brian started their career in 2000 at Duke Energy Merchants LLC, where they worked as an Associate Coal Trader and later as a Trading and Risk Management Analyst. Brian then joined Progress Energy in 2002, where they held various roles including Senior Risk Analyst, Coal Trader, and Director Coal Sales.

In 2006, Bender joined BP Energy Company as a Lead Coal Originator, where they marketed physical and financial products to coal customers and assisted in drafting coal confirmation and contract templates. Brian then worked at TRAXYS from 2008 to 2014 as a Commercial Manager, identifying and executing trading opportunities in US and international coal markets.

From 2015 to 2017, Bender worked at Mabanaft Coal Trading Inc. as a Supply and Trading Manager, managing price risk for North American and European coal books and collaborating with marketing personnel to execute trading strategies.

Most recently, Bender worked at Bayway Volvo Cars as an Internet Sales Director from 2017 to 2020 before joining Mobius Partners in 2020 as an Account Manager.

Brian Bender attended Texas Christian University - M.J. Neeley School of Business from 1995 to 2000. Brian completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a focus on Accounting and Finance.
