Sara C. is an experienced professional in volunteer coordination and program management, currently serving as the Coordinator of Volunteer Services at the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) since June 2021. Responsibilities include developing and implementing recruitment and training strategies, as well as facilitating a comprehensive volunteer training program. Previously, Sara held positions such as Volunteer Coordinator at Heart to Heart International and Volunteer Programs Supervisor at the Kansas City Zoo, where expertise in recruiting, training, and overseeing large volunteer teams was demonstrated. Additional experience includes managing front-of-house operations at Johnson County Community College and serving in customer service roles at Kansas City Actors Theatre and Legoland Discovery Center. Sara holds a Bachelor's degree in Directing and Theatrical Production from Cornell College, completed in 2016.

MOCSA’s mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and assault and to prevent sexual violence in our community. Together we can create a community free from sexual assault and abuse. Our services are free of charge and available to survivors and their families in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We offer the following services: - 24-hour Crisis Services: 816-531-0233 & 913-642-0233 - Advocacy: hospital, legal, police, and court advocacy; support groups - Counseling: individual and group therapy - Education: age-appropriate programs for children in elementary, middle, and high schools; training for advocates, counselors, law enforcement, restaurant and bar staff, and other professionals - Prevention: supporting community based coalitions in both Missouri and Kansas to prevent sexual assault and other forms of violence
