Sydney Debrick is a dedicated professional currently serving as a Prevention Specialist at the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) since December 2022 and as an Adjunct Criminology Instructor at Avila University since January 2024. Sydney has a solid background in criminology, holding both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University. Previous work experience includes roles as a Closing Manager and Closer at Nations Lending Services from September 2020 to August 2022, a Host at Chicken N Pickle from October 2019 to September 2020, and a Retail Associate at RAYGUNshirts from September 2019 to September 2020. Sydney also worked as a Residential Specialist at Burrell Behavioral Health from January 2019 to July 2019 and served as a Convenience Store Student Manager at Missouri State University from April 2017 to July 2019.

MOCSA’s mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and assault and to prevent sexual violence in our community. Together we can create a community free from sexual assault and abuse. Our services are free of charge and available to survivors and their families in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We offer the following services: - 24-hour Crisis Services: 816-531-0233 & 913-642-0233 - Advocacy: hospital, legal, police, and court advocacy; support groups - Counseling: individual and group therapy - Education: age-appropriate programs for children in elementary, middle, and high schools; training for advocates, counselors, law enforcement, restaurant and bar staff, and other professionals - Prevention: supporting community based coalitions in both Missouri and Kansas to prevent sexual assault and other forms of violence
