Lead Commissioning Engineer at Modec

Mandar Sawant has a strong background in ship management and engineering. Mandar started their career as a Project Superintendent for a DP vessel at Nuautika Brunei in 2008. From there, they moved on to MISC Berhad, where they worked as a Superintendent for Chemical and Product Tankers. Mandar gained experience in corporate work culture and took over vessels from third-party management. In 2012, they joined MTM Ship Management Pte Ltd as a Technical Superintendent, where they focused on third-party management on behalf of owners and implemented dry docking preparations and budget forecasting. In 2014, Mandar joined Thome Ship Management PTE. LTD. as a Vessel Manager, where they were responsible for technical operations and management of chemical and product tankers. Mandar executed planned maintenance and inventory management to achieve high reliability standards. Currently, Mandar is working at MODEC, Inc. as a Lead Commissioning Engineer, where they oversee commissioning activities.

Mandar Sawant completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business from Anglia Ruskin University from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended MMD Government of India from 1993 to 2001, where they earned the degree of Chief Engineer Marine. In 1987, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from K.J. Somaiya College of Science. Additionally, during the same period, they pursued a Bachelor of Physics degree from Mumbai University at Anglia Ruskin University.
