Jim Olsen

Jim Olsen is the current Chief Technical Officer at ModelOp. Prior to joining ModelOp, Jim served as Practice Lead (Director) for Software Development at Think Big, A Teradata Company. In this role, Jim was responsible for running the entire software development practice for Teradata's consulting organization in the Americas. Jim provided architectural and hands-on experience for the development of solutions based on machine learning and deep learning technologies, at scale, in the enterprise environment. Additionally, they provided the mentoring, management, and guidance for running the consulting practice in a manner that delivered both the success of our clients, and the continued growth of our talented individuals.

Prior to their role at Think Big, Jim served as Team Lead at Qualtrics. In this role, they led a team responsible for the design and development process to handle all survey responses for the company. This was a 'from the ground up' implementation of a second generation architecture to provide improved survey analytics of a large number of responses for a SaaS solution. The team was successful in reducing the statistics analytics load time from over 20 minutes, to under 4. This position utilized Spring, Tomcat, REST, Postgres (Jooq and Hibernate), Java, and JavaScript.

Jim has extensive experience in software development, architecture, and management. Jim is a proven leader in delivering successful projects and guiding teams to success. Jim is currently using their skills and experience to help ModelOp deliver innovative solutions to their clients.

Jim Olsen has a BS from Clarkson University in Dual Major in Computer Science and Psychology.
