James Carolan is currently the Associate Director of External Research Ventures at Moderna, where they lead program initiatives. Previously, they served as a Senior Consultant at Clarion and as an Associate Director of Commercial Strategy at bluebird bio. James completed a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology at the University of Michigan, following a B.S. in Chemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University. Their research experience includes investigating protein-protein interactions during a postdoctoral fellowship at Boston University and designing anti-inflammatory compounds as a graduate research assistant.
