Mark Milstead

Mark Milstead is an accomplished intellectual property attorney with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as Sr. Counsel for Moderna since August 2020, Mark previously held positions at Strain PLLC as Counsel and at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) in various roles, including Senior Patent Attorney and Patent Attorney II, where responsibilities included drafting and prosecuting patents, providing legal opinions, and advising on patent issues. Earlier career experiences include serving as Patent Counsel for Intervet Inc, Associate Attorney at Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, and as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO. Mark holds a Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a M.S. in Medicinal Chemistry from The University of Kansas, and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
