Gary Olsen

Gary Olsen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. In 2008, they worked as a Software Developer at TradePMR. Gary then moved on to Amazon in 2009, where they served as a Software Development Engineer in Digital Ordering. In 2010, Gary joined Arc90, Inc. as a Software Developer, specializing in backend development and limited frontend work. Gary played a crucial role in database architecture, performance testing, and search approach. Gary co-founded Dispatch Inc in 2011, initially focusing on cloud collaboration and later shifting to email collaboration. Gary worked at Gilt.com from 2013 to 2015 as a Senior Software Engineer, primarily engaged in managing the recommendations engine and flash sale ranking algorithm. Gary joined Facebook in 2015 as a Software Engineer in People Products. Gary worked on engineering onboarding, improving internal tooling, and mentorship programs. At Better.com, Gary worked as a Senior Software Engineer in 2021, and at Stripe, they served as a Software Engineer in 2022. Currently, they are the Owner of Olsen Technology, LLC since August 2019. Gary Olsen attended the University of Florida, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics in 2013, and also a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Statistics in the same year. Gary then went on to pursue Graduate Coursework at the University of Washington starting in 2014, focusing on Computational Finance and Risk Management.
