Modiblast Pharma is advancing into the clinical phase with a groundbreaking approach to Dendritic Cell Therapies for liquid cancers. The critical challenge in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is the very high relapse rate after successful initial treatment.
Our therapy directly addresses this by reprogramming patients’ own leukemic blasts through immunomodulators into leukemia-specific dendritic cells (DCleu). These induced DCleu act as powerful antigen-presenting cells, activating both innate and adaptive immune responses to eliminate residual or recurring blasts and to establish long-lasting immune surveillance.
By this strategy, the patient’s immune system is directed to recognize the full, individual repertoire of leukemic antigens—without the need to pre-select molecular targets.
Compared to approaches like CAR-T, our strategy offers decisive advantages:
- No complex or costly ex vivo engineering
- No reliance on specialized GMP facilities
- Potential for a simple, self-administered drug to sustain remission or block disease progression
Beyond AML, this therapy also shows promise for myelodysplastic syndrome and other cancers, with the potential to normalize thrombocyte and neutrophil counts.
