Matthew Ryan

Matthew Ryan is a highly experienced Senior FPGA Engineer currently employed at ModRetro since May 2025. Prior to this role, Matthew held various positions at Freeform from July 2021 to April 2025, including Lead Digital Design Engineer, Staff FPGA Engineer, and Senior FPGA Engineer. Earlier experience includes serving as FPGA Engineering Manager and Senior FPGA Design Engineer at Silvus Technologies from July 2017 to July 2021, and as an FPGA Design Engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory from January 2013 to July 2017, focusing on instrument interface systems for flight and non-flight projects in high-performance hardware/software environments. Matthew's career began with internships and co-op positions at prestigious companies such as Apple and Harris Corporation, following the attainment of a combined BS/MS in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2012.
