Ryan Lim

Ryan Lim, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Biology at Modulo Bio since March 2022 and is a co-founder of Uncommon Therapeutics since 2024. With extensive experience at UC Irvine from 2011 to 2022, Ryan held positions as Project Scientist and Associate Project Scientist, focusing on neurodegeneration mechanisms through stem cells and computational biology, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Dr. Leslie Thompson's laboratory studying neurodegenerative diseases. Ryan's research background includes modeling Huntington’s disease during doctoral studies, leading to publications and successful grant writing. Prior experience includes roles at UC Davis Health System and the California Department of Public Health. Ryan holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from UC Irvine and has additional degrees from California State University-Sacramento and UC Davis. Ryan also participated in Y Combinator in early 2025.
